Business owner, Canberra Raiders supporter, university student, housemate, person with a disability, live band fan, friend, brother and son.
Isaac is a young man who loves to drive around Canberra with the music going to meet and help people.
Isaac happens to have an intellectual disability.
Born in Bradford England he has inherited a love of watching rugby league and loves the atmosphere when he goes to support the Canberra Raiders.
He is also enjoying the experience of going to the University of Canberra where he participates in the Drumming Club and a Teaching Literacy class.
Recently Isaac has started the journey of moving out of home. He is a part time housemate at Beadlemania – an intentional community of young 20 somethings that share a house in the suburbs. His housemates share his love of the Canberra Raiders and computer games.
Hanging out at live bands is also something that Isaac loves to do. His favourite hang out is the Aviary Rooftop Bar at Westside Acton Park.
Isaac Delivers is an important social enterprise
Having a job gives your life purpose, provides you with social connections and enables you to be valued for your contribution to your community. Sadly, those things don’t come easily to a person with a disability.
Isaac Delivers was the brainchild of Isaac’s Band of Brothers & Sisters – an incorporated association formed by friends and family who work to help him have a good life where he belongs in his community. Read more about The Band.
The Band have helped set up this small business based around Isaac’s interests in driving, listening to music and greeting people. Our goal is to provide a good quality service to our customers and in return Isaac will be valued for his contribution, meet new people and make some great friends who in turn will give him a good life and keep him safe.
We have also strived to keep the business simple, well managed and sustainable so that Isaac will have long term employment.
